The Queen’s Commonwealth Writing Competition, formerly known as the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, celebrates young voices and creative expression across the Commonwealth.

Organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society, the competition was reimagined for 2026 with a broader approach to writing and greater regional representation. The 2026 competition was open to Commonwealth nationals or residents under 18.

The competition is supported by Her Majesty The Queen, Vice-Patron of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
