Social Events

An important part of the ACT Branch's work is to bring together the friends of the Commonwealth in Canberra. We share companionship as well as come together to learn, celebrate and share the vibrant stories of the modern Commonwealth of Nations. Commonwealth Week

Each March we celebrate the modern Commonwealth with a whole host of events including our Commonwealth Day Inter-faith Service, Commonwealth Dinner, lectures on current affairs and our much anticipated cricket-match between DFAT and the High Commissions.

Kings Birthday Dinner

In June we mark the official birthday of His Majesty King Charles III who as well as King of Australia is the Head of the Commonwealth. We usually have a guest speaker who shares with us their insights on the values of the modern Commonwealth such as democracy.

Throughout the year we host a number of different events, from casual lunches to mark the change of season in Canberra, to lectures on aspects of the politics and history of the Commonwealth. More information is available on our website.
